A native of Western Canada, Ms. Martino received her early training in the three disciplines of ballet, tap and jazz. Later training led her to Toronto.
Ms. Martino has danced professionally and taught for many prestigious organizations. Ms. Martino’s choreography can be seen in Breakaway Entertainment’s critically acclaimed show Anatomy of a Dancer where she served as an associate choreographer (BroadwayWorld Toronto nomination for best choreography).
Having run her dance studio for nearly 30 years, Ms. Martino’s work has been recognized with choreography awards from competitions. Many of Ms. Martino’s dancers have gone on to successful professional dance careers across North America; performing on cruise ships, feature films, national musical tours, and became company members of prestigious professional dance companies.
Retiring from her role as Artists Director of the Martino Centre of Dance, Ms. Martino continues to guest teach, choreograph, and adjudicate across Canada and the United States. It has been her life’s work to instill the joy of dance in the next generation of young performers.
