Ms. Lockett is an Associate of the Royal Academy of Dance and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. Trained at the Royal Ballet School, the Royal Academy of Dance ( London England ), the School of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and the Canadian College of Dance ( Ryerson ) as well as scholarships to the Banff Centre for the Arts and the School of American Ballet ( New York).

Ms Lockett performed professionally with Dance Dimensions , the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and Ballet Ys before founding OSB in 1979. Ms. Lockett also founded Ontario Ballet Theatre, a professional touring company, and was Executive Director for over 30 years. Ms Lockett and her companies have been awarded the Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Artistic Excellence and the Queens Diamond Jubilee Award.
